About the Client

With over ten years in the photography game and more than 200 sessions under her belt, Hannah McMahon is a seasoned photographer. Like so many other business owners, Hannah wears a lot of hats: wife, mom, lifestyle photographer, and, of course, a ball cap when she’s out exploring. Born in Boston but raised in North Carolina, Hannah has a deep-rooted love for warmth and nature. Whether she’s soaking in the stunning scenery of Topsail, NC, or exploring new, captivating landscapes, she’s always ready to document your most authentic moments.

About the Project

THE PROBLEM

Hannah’s old website was a bit like a dusty photo album—it just didn’t capture the emotional depth and visual storytelling that her photography is all about. After ten years of juggling photography and motherhood, her kids were growing up. It was time to shift more energy to her business.
But she didn’t know how exactly to write a website, and didn’t want to! She wanted to stay focused on photography and document moments worth savoring.

MY APPROACH

From our first chat, it was clear that for Hannah, photography was a passion, not just another job. I aimed to create a website that would be a true reflection of her artistry and adventurous spirit.

Website Copywriting

Before I penned (er, typed) her website pages, I wanted to define her voice. Themes of nature, light, and warmth jumped out at me when we chatted. I wanted to showcase her love for the outdoors, so I used descriptive language and storytelling throughout the copy. But Hannah is also very easy-going and relaxed. She told me her favorite way to unwind was sitting in her backyard with sparkling water and Bob Marley music. So, I wanted to sprinkle in laid-back and personal language wherever I could.

With a clear direction for how Hannah’s site should sound, it was time to work on the pages. From the intentional homepage to the intimate details of the About page, I focused on themes of authenticity, connection, and the natural beauty that inspires her. I highlighted her photojournalistic approach, love for Topsail Island, and passion for capturing real emotions. Each page flowed like chatting with an old friend. A kindred spirit. By the end of it, we had a cohesive, warm, and inviting website that truly reflects who Hannah is as a person and as an artist.

THE RESULTS

The new website launched with a beautiful portfolio showcasing the range of Hannah’s work, from stunning landscapes to intimate family moments. Her brand voice is evident throughout the site, and her services are written in a way that connects with her ideal clients.

Of course, I couldn’t do this alone. Karima Creative has such a talent for taking words on a page and bringing them to life beautifully on a website. If you’re looking for branding or web design help, she’s a great choice. She even did my branding and website! You could say I’m obsessed.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with clients commenting on how her website truly captures her work and personality. Not only did this revamp attract more clients, but it also bolstered her brand and confidence. She raised her rates with her new site! Now, Hannah’s attracting higher-paying ones who value her unique style and approach.
